In 1989, a beverage department supervisor at a Marriott hotel in the Washington,
D.C. area noticed discrepancies in inventory and beverage activity. The hotel's
Food and Beverage Director wanted to replace their error-prone and labor-intensive
manual system with a fast and accurate bar code-based software program.
The first generation of Clear Sky Software, then known as BICS (Beverage Inventory
Control System) was developed specifically for this client. One of the first automated
inventory applications to hit the market, BICS quickly gained a reputation for accuracy
and ease of use. Since it was designed specifically for the hospitality industry,
word spread to other lodging companies and demand for the product grew.
I must say that your
staff has been super! Your follow up calls to ensure that everything is satisfactory
has definitely made us feel valued as a customer.
